REEP JOINS ULM TRACK & FIELD STAFF

MONROE, La. -- ULM track & field head coach J.D. Malone has announced the hiring of Toby Reep as the new assistant track & field coach on the Warhawks staff. Reep is scheduled to start at ULM on July 17. His hiring is pending the approval of the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors. Reep specializes in training distance runners and spent the past two and a half years as the cross country/assistant track coach at the University of North Texas. "I am very excited to have Toby join our staff," said Malone. "He brings Sun Belt Conference experience to our program. He is young and enthusiastic." At North Texas, Reep trained 15 all-Sun Belt Conference performers, and five individual Sun Belt champions. The 2005 men`s cross country team finished second in the Sun Belt Conference, while the women finished fourth. The 2005 women`s indoor track & field team took the Sun Belt title with strong finishes in the distance events. Reep graduated from West Texas A&M University in 2003 with a bachelor`s degree in sports & exercise science. He also is USATF Level I certified.
