Pieces of history were in the ArkLaTex Thursday. Proof of the Saints' victory is making its way across ten cities.
The Saints took home the Vince Lombardi trophy in February."The confetti, that's all I remember. It was like a swarm, sea of confetti and it was so exciting" says Amiee, who cheers for the New Orleans Saints. She was on the field when the Saints won.
But for one day, the trophy's home was the Shreveport Convention Center.
"We decided pretty early on that we didn't want the Lombardi trophy or all these other things to sit behind glass in our offices" says Ben Hales, the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for the Saints.
Decked out in black and gold and armed with cameras, Saints fans came out by the hundreds.
"We could hardly sleep last night when we heard they were coming to town to bring the trophy and the jersey and all" says Linda Scott.
Former Saints receiver Michael Lewis signed autographs and took pictures.
"At first you never thought you had this many fans up here but you always have to fight with all these Dallas people on the other side of the bridge" says Lewis.
Cheerleaders, the official championship ring, games, posters and interactive exhibits were all part of Thursday's fan experience.
"It's really cool because it's like I would never probably get to meet them again" says Cassie Oftin.
But there's still one thing on everyone's mind... a repeat title!
The trophy will be in Lake Charles next week. The Saints are looking at adding some cities to the current ten-city tour.
