They're looking into the possibility that the killing of 30-year-old Anthony Hill may have been a hate crime.
Hill's body was found on the side of a highway early Wednesday morning.
He had been shot and then dragged behind a vehicle for several miles.
Investigators followed a trail of blood back to the home of 19-year-old Gregory Collins, a co-worker of Hill.
Collins was arrested after an hours-long standoff that came to a conclusion when officers fired tear gas into his home.
The motive for the killing is still unclear.
