A Proposal Could Help Revitalize A Shreveport Neighborhood

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
a proposal to build an interchange and exits going through the inner city could help revitalize the shreveport neighborhood of Allendale/ Lakeside. The geographical heart of Shreveport is hurting. Some parts of the Allendale/ Lakeside community look like a ghost town. Rows and rows of empty homes. Residents who live there say something needs to change. Some say there is one way to bring hope to this community, a proposal to build an I-49 interchange with exits into the neighborhood could bring the economic life blood Allendale/ Lakeside needs. Back in the 70`s people were against this proposal because of fear. Now bringing the economic development back into the community could be just what Allendale/ Lakeside needs.
