Family of Three Dies in Natchitoches Mobile Home Fire

A Natchitoches man and his two children are dead, after a fire rips though their mobile home. It happened in the 1100 block of Sabine Alley shortly after 1 am. "I was going to bed when my dog started barking. I came outside to see what he was barking at... the fire was blazing.. windows were breaking." said neighbor Lucretia Payton. Her family called 911. Firefighters say they arrived on the scene about three minutes after they got the call. When they arrived, the home was fully engulfed. Natchitoches Fire Chief Dennie Boyt says it took firefighters about ten minutes to get the blaze under control. "It wasn`t until afterwards that they found victims inside," said Boyt. When they entered the home investigators found three bodies. Family members identify them as 43-year-old Terry Moses, and his two children 16-year-old Angelica and 18-year-old Kevin. Terry was a manager at the Cotton Patch restaurant. Prior to that he spent several years as a cook in the military. Terry`s brother Patrick says the teens were visiting their father for the summer. "They were good kids..I loved both of them. Because of the divorce they lived in Nashville with their mom." Their mom dropped them off at the home late Sunday night, just hours before the fire started. Now family members are counting on their faith to help make it through this difficult time. "I was devastated over the loss of my brother. But I also know that he`s a Christian. He`s saved... so were his kids...The text says we are supposed to rejoice in all situations... Including situations like this."
