Lake Levels Rise

Recent rains have raised levels at several local lakes and rivers. Fisherman say Lake Bistineau has risen about a foot in the past week. The Red River is also on the rise. Friday, Caddo Marine Patrol had to shut down the Stoner Boat Launch.
The shore of Caddo Lake is overflowing, but the lake is still open. Authorities are asking fishermen to use caution while out on the water, so they dont cause a large wake. Late Sunday, water was seeping into backyards and creeping dangerously close to some homes. Surprisingly, some residents along Caddo Lake are actually glad to see the rain, because the levels were so very low last year.
Weather forecasters say the waters should start receding soon.
