MLK Ceremony In Minden

Residents in Minden got together to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. It`s was a day to remember one of the poineers of the civil right movement. Mayor Cedirc Glover was the keynote speaker at a celebration honoring the man and his dream. With song and prayer residents got together to honor a man who fought for peace and equality. A vision that changed America. Several years later Martin Luther King Jr.`s dream lives on. Shreveport made history electing the city`s first black mayor. The fight for equality was not an easy one. One Minden family remembers it all to well. Ultimately people at the ceremony honoring Martin Luther King Jr. agree the community and the region has come a long way since the days of segregation. Tomorrow several area businesses will be shut down in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
