I-30 Fatal Accident Investigation Continues

An investigation into the fatal crash on Interstate 30 Wednesday evening continues. Police have now released the name of the victim from the crash. 78 year old Narene Pope of Redwater, Texas died at the scene. Police say an 18 wheeler tried to slow due to stopped traffic on the interstate, hitting Popes car, causing a chain reaction. Authorities say the driver of the truck could face charges. "Right now, the accident is still under investigation, and charges may very well be pending," says Sergeant Shawn Fitzgerald with the Texarkana, Texas Police Department. The driver and the truck belonged to Southern Refrigerated Transport. Police didnt elaborate on what charges the driver might face.
