breaking news
Shreveport councilman Calvin Lester and Hersy Jones, both attorneys, are facing serious allegations tonight. The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary board has now recommended that the state supreme court suspend Lester from practicing law for 3 years and that Jones be disbarred entirely.
The board found that Lester had repeatedly taken money from clients and did not use the funds properly. In published reports, Lester did admit to taking the money, but, could not explain how it was used. The council member declined an interview with KTAL today.
Jones faces similar allegations. The committee found that he had also misused money from clients and repeatedly signed contracts with clients only to never speak with them again and did not return their deport. The Supreme Court has yet to set a date to decide their fate.
