    Wedding Gift Etiquette

Thankfully, the internet has taken the guess work out of selecting a gift for the newlyweds.  Just log on to any number of websites, click on the bride and groom’s names and immediately you’ll have a detailed list of what the couple wants, needs, as well as some things they probably could live without, but would love to own!

Here’s a bit of etiquette that applies to wedding gifts:

The couple should never mention gift choices or gift registry on the wedding invitation.

To publicize their registry they should use a wedding website and word of mouth.  The one exception is the bridal shower invitation where it’s not only permissible but appropriate to mention the registry.

By the way, if for some reason the wedding is cancelled, all gifts, even shower gifts, must be returned.
