  • Bossier Parish sets up mobile command to give flood hel...

A flood threat has the Bossier Parish Sheriff's office taking action.
The office has issued an "evacuation advisory" for an area of south bossier parish: between highway 154 to highway 157, south to the "Loggy bayou bridge and west to the Red River."

Imagine having rising water overtake your home. You have a decision to make, stay or leave it all behind. But the Stowers family says its more than that. “Our family built this house. Even the kids helped. A floor can be replaced, but you can't replace a memory." So, the Stowers decided to stay but say many of their south bossier neighbors have packed and moved out.

"I guess you have to have the worst case scenario and be cautious." But, Steve Ford says, he's staying put and keeping an eye on the water level and as a Bossier City firefighter he's out and about helping neighbors get through the flood. "I told my son this is what America is all about, we help each other out."

Bossier Parish set up an emergency mobile center. The National Guard brought in high water vehicles to check on people with flooded homes.
