2-yr-old Mauled by Pit Bull Update

Matthew Clayton Hurt was pronounced dead Wednesday morning at a hospital in Texarkana after he reportedly walked away from his babysitter's home on Bemiss Street, wandering into a neighbor's yard. Hurt apparently walked into the dog house of a pit bull, which then attacked him. Pescott police Chief Brian Russell says they are still investigating.
Russell tells NBC 6 state police investigators are also assisting. Possible charges are being reviewed in concert with the Nevada County prosecutor. We're also told the dog remains in custody of animal control. The dog owner is not expected to face charges.
