Lafitte says, “I’m very excited about the tremendous opportunity with NBC 6 and its great news team. I look forward to returning to television news.” Lafitte brings a wealth of experience, expertise and energy to NBC 6. Her popularity and professionalism earned her high praise and journalistic accolades as the primary anchor at KSLA from 2000-2006.

Lafitte spends countless hours giving back. She’s an advocate for issues involving women and children. Most recently, she served the Shreveport community as a Marketing Specialist for LaCHIP in cooperation with Christus Schumpert Health Systems. Lafitte says, “It’s been a privilege to serve the uninsured and underinsured families of Shreveport.”
Lafitte has more than 20 years experience as a broadcast journalist, serving as an anchor, reporter and manager at stations in Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina and Louisiana. She’s a graduate of Dillard University in New Orleans and has done graduate work in Communications at Loyola University, also in New Orleans.
Lafitte is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Shreveport Chapter of the Links Inc. and the NAACP. She is married to Shreveport District Judge Ramon Lafitte.
