Wouldn't it be nice to not have to worry about cooking and dirty dishes for a week?
It is possible to have free dinner for your family for a week, thanks to the Alzheimer's Association.
Local favorites like Southfield Grill, Superior Grill and Albasha are some the restaurants offering you dinner for supporting the Alzheimer's Association.
"We have a lot of community efforts that we are doing, support groups and educational programs for the community," said Regional Director, JoAnna Hensley.
On Saturday, free meals will be raffled off to help the Association. The funds raised go straight back into the community through caregiver support groups.
Including a new program called Step By Step.
"We will have professionals come in and speak to the caregivers free of charge on different topics like legal issues, money matters, ways of dealing with the disease at home."
Joanna Hensley's father was diagnosed at 52, he died when he was only 59. That's why she's working to help other families.
"My mother was the sole caregiver for my father and I just really saw her struggle."
Hensley says the raffle is a quick way to give back to the community and help those searching for answers.
"My main mission is to help caregivers."
You can purchase a ticket at Instant Imprints on Shreveport-Barksdale.
