Reported by: Shelli Briery Thursday, Jan 22, 2009 @12:17pm CST Seniors living at Live Oak now have a chapel of their own.
Chapel At The Oaks has been under construction for the last year. "They have been wanting a chapel for so many years and now it has come to pass." Chaplain Mickey Cowan says it is one for all faiths. "We know that people who have a strong religious faith are happy and healthier." Prayer services and worship will be offered for all denominations. "I think it is beautiful," said Resident, Bernice Rogmmoe. "We are really going to enjoy it," said Esther Bremer. The chapel's interior is white, with plenty of windows. The sun shines through on Stained glass and paintings. Seniors say it is a great place to meditate and give thanks. "It is just beautiful and restful for them," said Cowan. The chapel is now open for any one looking for a place of comfort. "It is gorgeous, it is so homey," said Resident Martha Denton. |
