Reported by: Jessica James Monday, Dec 8, 2008 @06:23pm CST Saturday night, a man was beaten up because of a T-shirt, and now police are working with the FBI to determine whether it was a hate crime.
Kaylon Johnson, 32, says he was walking out of the gas station when people started yelling racial slurs at him because he was wearing a Barack Obama shirt. He says, before he could even react, he was punched in the face and knocked out. Johnson was taken to the hospital with a broken nose and a broken eye socket. If it is decided that this was a hate crime the men, who are still on the run, could face felony charges. |
