Wednesday is the first day of breast cancer awareness month, and Texarkana is going pink.
The Wadley foundation held a fundraiser, and supporters paid ten dollars to wear the “Texarkana Goes Pink” t-shirt.
"We want to regenerate Texarkana and get into the mood for breast cancer awareness month," Wadley Medical Center spokesperson Shelby Brown said.
Wadley will also host a fundraising event this Friday, called “Bringing Hope Home.” The keynote speaker is Robin Roberts, and tickets for the speech are still on sale.
Wadley is working to raise about $450,000 to buy MR breast imaging technology.
Women in Texarkana, who want an MRI, currently have to go out of town.
