A:        Click on the “Log In” link at the top, right-hand corner of the page.

-          Click on the “New User?” Link on the log in page.









-          Enter your contact information in the fields provided.


































-          Click the “Submit Registration” button, and you will be registered and signed in to the site, ready to post a classified ad or community calendar event.  If there are problems with your registration information, you will get an error message telling you where the problem is in the form.  Just fix the problem, resubmit your information, and you will be set up to post information and items on ArkLaTex Homepage!

Q: "How do I change my password?"
A: All your settings (if you are registered) are stored in the database. To alter them click the 'Personalize ArkLaTexHomePage.com' link at the top of page. This will allow you to change all your settings.

Q: "What are Bookmarks?"
A: Bookmarks are links to your favorite websites. With our bookmarks feature, all your favorite sites are just a click away.

Q: "How do I bookmark this page?"
A: To add a "Bookmarks" section to your personalized homepage, follow these steps: 
          1. Click on "Add Content" in the top-left corner. 
          2. Select "Tools" from the left panel. 
          3. Click the "Add it now" button under the section entitled "Bookmarks." 
          4. Click "Back to homepage" in the top-left corner of the page.

Q: "How do I make this my home page?"
A: Click on the 'Personalize ArkLaTexHomePage.com' link and fill out the registration form.

Q: "How do I post a Classified Ad?"
A: You may post a classified ad for free, but you must be a registered user to do so.  See the registered user directions above.  Once you are registered:
        1. On all the log in screens on ArkLaTex Homepage.com, you will see this menu below the username and password fields:

 

        2. Click on the link that suits your needs. Then, just enter information about your item.  Be sure to fill in all fields, as the system needs this in order to process the information correctly.  For example, if the item is a free giveaway, please put $0.00 in the price field, instead of leaving it blank.

        3. As you complete the forms to post ads, you will have the opportunity to ad photographs for your item.  We encourage this, as research shows people are more likely to browse an item with a photo than one without a photo.

         4. Remember what category your item is filed under; our “Featured Items” graphic on the site shows only the most recent items, and many items are posted each day, so in order to check on the number of viewings your item has had, you will need to know what category it is filed under.  The system will also tell you the items you have posted when you log in, and then visit the “place a classified” or other posting links.

Q: "How do I delete a Classified Ad?"
A:  Step 1: Log in to ArkLaTex Homepage.com under your username.

Step 2: Click on “Free Classifieds” to go to the Classifieds area.

Step 3: Click on the area (or category) under which your item has been filed, ex: “Pets and Animals.”

Step 4: Select your item from the item list.

Step 5: When you are properly logged in, you will see a link at the top of your item that says “This is your item, click here to edit.”

Step 6: Make any necessary edits to your item, or click the “Delete this item” link at the top of the edit form.

Step 7: Be sure to click “Edit Item” at the bottom of the form to save your changes, if any.


Helpful facts about Classified Ads:
Items expire after 30 days, so be sure to check back.  If your item expires, you will need to re-enter it.

We go to great lengths to protect classified advertisers from spam emails.  However, the system is also designed to allow people to communicate, and as such, if a person visiting the site wants to send an email scam to you, they will be able to do so.  We protect your personal information, so until you respond to the scam email, the scammer has no information about you other that what you have written about your item. Watch out for emails that offer you overpayment for your item or payment by cashiers check, the bulk of which they ask you to return via a “courier” they say they work with for shipment of your item.  Also, most of these scams are perpetrated by individuals operating from outside of the U.S.  The language in their correspondence will show this clearly, as it will read in an unusual way, which is indicative of a translation to English, not simply bad writing.  The bottom line is that if you are suspicious of an email you receive, then delete it, and don’t respond.  Honest folks are ready and willing to trade phone numbers and arrange a time to meet to look things over; the dishonest ones won’t even offer a phone number when you ask for it point-blank.  A little common sense will keep you secure online, and we’ll do the rest.
